Academic career

  • 2006-2010 – Post-doc position in the field of Tissue Engineering at the University of Pavia.
  • From 2011 – Assistant Professor in the field of Tissue Engineering (Faculty of Engineering, Department of Electrical, Computer and Biomedical Engineering).

  • Physical stimuli on cell cultures in vitro
  • Perfusion, electromagnetic, and ultrasound bioreactors for the culture in vitro of cells inside porous biomaterials
  • Muscle cells stretched in vitro
  • Analysis of the movement of a cardiomyocyte syncytium in vitro
  • Analysis of the movement of whole hearts in vivo
  • Developmental competence of oocytes

Degree mentoring and PhD mentoring

Tutor for 50 Bioengineering students and for 4 PhD Bioengineering candidates.
